It’s What’s on the Inside That Counts. Right?

So I was searching for something to do tonight that wasn’t craft oriented after my day yesterday and decided to try my hand at some baked cream cheese, jalapeno wonton wrapper appetizers.

I froze some jalapenos from my garden last year and found wonton wrappers the other day at the grocery store.  They also had cream cheese on sale for $.99  a box, so I picked up five!  Don’t usually get the low fat, but their shelves were almost bare.

I chose five peppers, three green and two that had been on the vine too long and were red.  Hope they don’t bite me later!

After chopping the jalapenos up, I added them to a brick of cream cheese and stirred it all together.

Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.  Get out one wonton wrapper and place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture on it.  Have a small bowl of water near by and dip your finger in the water, then get the edges of the wonton wrapper wet.

Fold the wrapper over into a triangle and press the edges shut.

I then sprayed the tops with a light coating of non-stick cooking spray.  Put them in the oven at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another five.

You can see I didn’t get my edges sealed quite good enough for all of the filling I put in them.  They aren’t pretty but they sure are HOT!!!  I’ll probably end up with an empty beer bottle to try and cut in half after eating a few of these!
